Helping Save the Planet

If I were in the new Avengers Endgame movie, I'd like to be the superhero DISC-MAN! I could be the DJ at Star-Lord's "Dance-Off to Save the Universe" ("just like Footloose"--you'll get the reference if you've seen Avengers Infinity War) and my super power would be spinning tunes to make the bad guys wanna dance instead of blowing us to smithereens, thus helping to save the planet!

Well, ok, unfortunately that's not happening...yet.

So since I started OTME, I've always thought that great pre-planning will help make an even greater wedding reception! Put all the work into the front end and then once it's show time, you know exactly what's going to happen to make it an awesome experience for the bride and groom and their guests.

Over the years, I developed a six page planner that every couple I've had the honor and pleasure of entertaining at their reception has used, and fretted over, to plan the music and flow of their reception.

Well, I'm happy to say those days are over. OK, not quite. But we are going to start saving some trees (hence the title of this post)!

I'm really excited to announce that I have subscribed to a new service which I think will help every couple from this point forward plan their event at their convenience. Plus it will streamline lots of things for me, too.

The service is called DJ Event Planner. I won't go into all the cool things it will help me do to manage OTME, but for couples, it's awesome.

DJ Event Planner will be used by all couples, from initial contact through to planning the reception. Each couple, once they book with me, will have their own unique portal to login to to plan the music and events for their wedding day.

So, to the right you'll see the landing page for Suzie Bride and Johnny Groom's upcoming wedding. This is what couples will see when the log in to their individual portal. I really like the countdown to the event.

Also, you'll see the green Plan My Event button. That's where the magic happens! Picking your first dance song has never been easier. There are music lists galore for you to peruse. And the cool thing is that this system is used by some of the best wedding DJs in the country, and the lists are populated based on other couple's choices around the country. But, you're not just tied to those lists. They are there as a guide, but any song can be input into the system to fit your specific theme or feel.

There are lots of other intuitive things DJ Event Planner will help you plan, including timelines, wedding party names, event flow, etc.

So, to those of you who are still filling out the paper planners I created, if you want and we have time, I can switch you over to this system. If not, we'll still plan a great event for you like we always have.

I can't wait to start using this new service going forward. I think this shows our continued commitment to providing exceptional service to each and every one of our couples that give us the honor of being their choice for wedding entertainment.
